Yes, the filter is quite expensive, but I did it without me for a month or so, because I ordered the replacement recommended by Whirlpool, which was the wrong one. So, I had to ask for a replacement, which means more costs, but the quality of water is just much better, as well as the taste and smell of the ice. Installation is fairly simple, just make sure you have a flashlight, if yours is at floor level as mine. You line it up correctly. I will continue to replace my light when my refrigerator’s advises. I do not like shopping, but I think it is useful for a better tasting and better smell of ice and water. I never had water filtration in the fridge before, but I’m so happy that I do now.
