Toaster, egg cooker, and meat warmer–this innovative unit combines all three functions into one easy-to-use appliance. The unit can be used solely as a full functioning toaster, or it can simultaneously toast bread, poach or steam-scramble an egg, and warm a pre-cooked slice of meat–or any combination of these three functions–to make the ultimate breakfast sandwich at home in just four minutes. Simply add 2 tablespoons of water to the heating tray using the included measuring cup, lightly coat the poaching tray with oil or nonstick cooking spray, and crack an egg into the poaching tray. Then place a slice of pre-cooked meat onto the warming tray and replace the lid. Add bread, an English muffin, croissant, or bagel into the wide toaster slots, select “egg/toast” from the control panel, and push the lever down to begin the cooking process. In addition to making breakfast sandwiches, the unit can also be used to boil up to four eggs at a time. Other convenient features include light to dark toast settings, automatic shut-off, an easy-to-clean control touchpad, a removable crumb tray, and handy cord storage. To clean, simply wipe out the heating tray and poaching tray with a damp paper towel. The toaster measures 7-1/5 by 15-1/4 by 8-1/6 inches and carries a one-year warranty.

We ordered 3 of these items for Christmas presents, 6 WEEKS AHEAD OF TIME, just to find that they NEVER SHOWED UP!! We were, however, charged for them promptly. Finally, two weeks before Christmas, we contacted Amazon and we were told that “there are plenty on hand and we will have them expedited to you”. Needless to say, the next day we received an e-mail stating that they were out of these and were not able to fill our order. WHY DID IT TAKE 6 WEEKS TO LET US KNOW THIS? What a sorry way to do business. They finally did reimburse our credit card, but we were left with, yet again, a very disappointing experience with your company. We will not order from you again so please delete all our personal information from your files. Also do not pass on our information.

This has turned out to be a terrific purchase! It doesn’t take up much more space than a standard 2 slice toaster and the price is comparable to other toasters, especially when you consider the quality and the extra features. I’ve made hard-boiled, poached and scrambled eggs and they’ve turned out perfectly. Cooking time is a function of the amount of water added and the included measuring cup directs you exactly to the right amount of water needed for the degree of doneness you want. If you’re making toast while your egg is cooking, the toaster part doesn’t start heating until after the egg has started cooking, so everything is done at the same time. One key for cooking a poached or scrambled egg is to make sure you spray the egg pan with a bit of non-stick cooking spray. Also, before you use it for the first time make sure you follow the directions to get rid of the plastic smell — the process is quick and it works! And the best part: it’s extremely easy to clean! Most parts can go into the dishwasher. The water tray can easily be cleaned with a dab of white vinegar and a paper towel. Crumb tray slides out easily for a quick wipe-off. Highly Recommended!!

This is a delightful variation on the toaster: you pop an egg into the poaching pan with some butter, toast a muffin and when both are finished, you assemble a nice egg sandwich. A friend of mine demonstrated his, and his variation on the sandwich involved scrambling the egg, adding a touch of milk and cheese. The one egg was as large as a double burger. This makes it easy to eat just one egg with your morning muffin. The appliance takes up no more space than the average toaster. It’s a snap to make a quick breakfast sandwich to grab and go. Big thumbs up for the Egg and Muffin Toaster.

We love our egg and muffin toaster! We received it as a wedding present and have used it regularly. It makes breakfast a breeze to make, and clean up is easy. Plus, not adding extra calories to make an egg sandwich is a great perk. Unfortunately our teflon wore off and the plastic egg holder broke. BUT I contacted Back to Basics customer service and the design has been improved since we received ours and they are sending us replacement accessories at no charge. This is a great gift for others (be sure to get one for yourself, too – you’ll LOVE it!). I think there’s a lot to be said for a great item & a company with stellar customer service!
