The concept is great but the engineering is poor. The motor is the weakest link. It is slow and weak. Even the user’s manual warns your not to run it continuously for more than 60 seconds. There are usually chunks of fruit or ice after multiple runs. If you use it regularly, don’t expect it to last.

I bought a Magic Bullet and have used it for over 6 months, but I only used the blender cups and made smoothies. I had a smoothie recipie that was larger than the blender cup so I thought I would use the blender jar attachment. As it turned out, when I put the blender jar in the base, it held the under side of the base up too high and within seconds, I had sheared the turning blades off the bottom of the base, rendering the upright blade unit useless. I switched to the flat blade and that was fine for another few weeks, until it also sheared the underside of the flatblade base level and therefore useless. I think the bullet is a great little machine, but it has some bugs in it that need to be worked out.

I just got my magic bullet yesterday and I love it. I really needed an easier way to make smoothies and protein shakes than pulling out my big glass blender and having to wash it each morning and afternoon with all the residue sticking to the sides. I considered buying a handheld blender/mixer, but I am very pleased with my magic bullet. It is so easy to fill a mug, screw on the blade, mix for a few seconds, wash the blade and go and I love the consistency of my shakes, very smooth! I really do not need mine for chopping veggies, but I am looking forward to trying the soup recipes included. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I must say that this is my second Magic Bullet because the 1st one broke after a year. I just bought another one and ground buffulo meat that made a dee-lish burger. That being said, the best thing about this machine is the infomercial..the characters are great! especially the grumpy guy named “vermon”(?). “yuck i HATE Broccoli ” he exclaims as the trustworthy and annoying Aussie host says he can enjoy the juice without the “yucky vegetable taste” ..It’s funny stuff..all the characters, including the hosts seem mildy retarded. The funniest thing is that they claim you can “cook” with it. So it’s an OK machine (very difficult to puree almost anything) but the infomercial is tops!

Cuisinart CSB-76 Smart Stick Hand Blender Review
This is the third hand blender I have owned, and is by far the most solid, smoothest running and easiest to clean. The brushed chrome construction looks great and is also easier to clean than plastic versions. Handy features like detachable base, included mixing cup and extra long mixer are thoughtful and useful. The motor is smooth and powerful – it is the Audi V8 of the hand blender world. For the quality, brand and power, $30 is an absolute steal.

Holy guacamole! I was a disbeliever, but now that I have this Cuisinart immersion blender, I am a True Believer. It is substantial yet quiet, and it works really, really well. It is easy to clean as the blender piece pops right off. I love that I can just place it into the pot and puree my soup right there! Awesome! Carrot soup, cauliflower soup, sweet potato soup have all fallen under my spell with this magic wand.

I have this and also purchased the kitchen aid KHB100 when it was on sale. The KHB100 had multispeed which admittedly was buckets of fun, but since they both get the job done, speed doesn’t matter that much. However if you want to know, the lowest setting on the KHB was probably about equal to the speed on the cuisinart. The locking mechanism on the cuisinart feels easier to lock in place than the KHB which has 2 buttons instead of 1 and needs a bit more force. In the end the cuisinart is ~2/3 the price of the KHB, so you can’t go wrong.

I never used my traditional blenders, because they need disassembly to go in the dishwasher. Lame! This thing pops the bottom steel blending shaft/blade thingie off, just that single piece can be easily tossed into the washer. End result: I use it way more! I was worried that it would be too wimpy, but it seems powerful enough. Crushes ice and everything. Also, you can ditch the cheapo plastic thing and blend in any sturdy large glass. I use a mason jar and it works great.

Handy for making sauces, smoothies and salad dressings. Sometimes it is not really strong enough for my uses. I use a lot of frozen fruits in my smoothies and it is often challenging to get it blended smoothly – it’s easier if I add only a little bit of fruit at a time. It’s a great immersion blender for the price.

Oster BPST02-B Review
I bought this blender for my wife to replace our dying unit. She absolutely loves this thing. There are no fancy button options like you will find on most household blenders. The control is merely a 2-stage on-off switch. It’s spring loaded so you have to hold it to the on position and releasing pressure will let it shut off quick. At first we thought this would be a pain in usage until we saw how fast this blender will pulverize anything you can throw at it. It can reduce the most stubborn solid to liquid in mere seconds.

The shaft broke on the replacement unit as well and only after the 7th or 8th use. This will be going back for a refund. I’ll be closing the book on this product and springing for a unit that can handle frozen strawberries better than this one does (I suspect the frozen strawberries are the culprit here.) I hasten to add that the blender I replaced this with, an old 10 speed Kitchen Aid model, did the job without fail (for years) but it went to Goodwill when I bought this one (which I mistakenly believed was an upgrade). So while I can’t imagine what it is I’m doing wrong, it’s simply not handling what I’m asking of it. And I thought I was being diligent in its use. The general rule of thumb I always used was to not load all the ingredients at once but rather “ease” the ingredients in while blending. Bad luck, bad user, maybe a bit of both. But in the end, the product isn’t as advertised, namely, it does not have an all metal drive. That’s simply an inaccurate description. The pictures I’ve added prove this.

I use it twice a day chopping tough vegetables sometimes running it for two or three minutes. The feet are wider than the non-pro beehive and the motor does not have the high pitch whine of the non-pro model. I wish I had known about the pro model before since the standard ones give out after a few years.

The Oster BPST02 is the Energizer Bunny of Blenders! I have had it for several months and it works flawlessly. I use it several times a day to make all sorts of smoothies and power shakes. I swear this thing could grind bricks if I threw them in. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this product. Best of all it has only 2 settings: on or pulse – you don’t have to wonder if you want speed setting 1 or 2 or 3. If you want a blender for daily use this is the one you want – it’s made of metal [not wimpy plastic] and will blend whatever you put into it. VERY pleased.

I have purchased several cheap blenders over the years and have had to replace them as the motor burns out or some other feature breaks. I finally decided to buy a “good” blender (ie more costly!). I make a fruit drink every morning for myself and a blended oatmeal drink for my daughter. This blender makes short work of ice cubes, giant pieces of fruit, hot oatmeal and everything else I have thrown at it! It only has two speeds, low and high but I can’t imagine what else you would actually need. I also purchased the blender cups that you can mix in and then just flip them over and take them along. They’re great too! This blender is easy to clean too. The metal ring that supports the blender container has ample room under it to wipe out any spilled contents easily and the rest of the housing just wipes down.
